Guglielma of Bohemia - the female "incarnation" of God, the first feminist heretic

First "in Bregonia", that is, in the church of Santo Stefano in Bregogna, of which nothing remains, then at the Pusterla Nuova, one of the minor gates, also called "pusterle", placed on the medieval layout of the walls of Milan, in correspondence with today's Via Sant'Andrea, Guglielma takes up residence, between 1260 and 1270, a woman whom no one knows, nor expects

Of this woman of regal origins, the eldest daughter of Queen Constance of Bohemia, all we know comes to us from the trial that the Milanese Inquisition, in 1300, makes against her and her followers.

Her followers are put on trial, in 1300, by the Milan Inquisition and condemned for heresy. Guglielma is already dead (in 1281), but her body is dug up from the Abbey cemetery, brought back to Milan and burned in the public square, as ordered by the sentence of the Inquisition tribunal.

Among the many heretical groups and movements that would animate Christian society in the late Middle Ages, the Williamites stand out because their project of reforming the Church represented a real break with the past. Their idea is that the renewal of Christian society will come from the female sex and began with William. It is therefore, for the first time, a feminist heresy that ideally unites Williamite ideas with modern feminism.
